It makes sense to graduate with qualifications in a growing field where your skills will be sought after. While politicians and law enforcement agencies may argue over whether crime figures are rising or falling, one growth area does appear to be cybercrime. With most crime the criminal has to be physically present at some stage in order to commit a felony. You can understand the attraction of cybercrime since the perpetrator need not even be in the same country. Even if the crime itself is not a cybercrime, the proceeds can be laundered and transferred at the speed of light between bank accounts and continents. Unfortunately for the criminals, computer forensics professionals are trained to understand exactly how to unravel and pursue a trail. It matters not that this is a cyber trail through the Internet. To a computer forensics investigator piecing the evidence together, this is just like finding fingerprints.
Forensic accounting is an important branch of criminal justice. While the motivation for crimes is usually only one of a few things, money, as they say, is the root of all evil. Famously, Al Capone was initially brought to justice because of tax evasion. It is this "forensic accounting," frequently studying computer records, that can often provide law enforcement agencies with the break they need. It is often said in law enforcement circles "follow the money," and for good reason. With the right forensic training you could discover a criminal's innermost secrets and desires. Following expenditure, you build up a profile of perpetrator's tastes and his movements to aid capture. It could be he's an online poker fan, or he may have booked tickets to the British Open.
Bismarck, in North Dakota offers the perfect place to study. Computer forensics investigator training requires high levels of concentration and this location can offer you the free time amenities you need within a small community setting. Among the local attractions, you can check out Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra. If you prefer peace and quiet and the beauty of nature, then you can never tire of this region. North Dakota is also famous for its bird watching opportunities.
