The thriving economy in Albuquerque, New Mexico has created a community of employers hungry for workers with business school backgrounds. A growing number of Albuquerque residents are using this opportunity to earn their MBA degrees, on campus or online. The city's vibrant culture and booming job market are making it a destination for adults who want to earn more money after completing business school.
Traditionally, Albuquerque's economy was based on its role as a commercial and transportation hub for the southwestern United States. Today, it is a center for high-tech manufacturing and business services. This has made Albuquerque a flourishing city, with a population of approximately 800,000 in its metropolitan area. More importantly, Albuquerque is responsible for almost half of New Mexico's economic activity.
Albuquerque Business Leaders Want More MBA Degree Holders
At the same time, business leaders have challenged New Mexico's education system to develop a stronger workforce. To retain major employers from the banking and wireless phone industries, Albuquerque has worked closely with business schools and universities to increase college enrollment and on-the-job training programs. Working adults can combine employer tuition reimbursement with state and federal financial aid to earn an MBA without giving up their current jobs.
Earning an MBA degree in Albuquerque is a big step toward a rewarding career. Recent city studies indicate that the number of new job opportunities in the region should grow by over 25% in the coming decade. More than a quarter of those new Albuquerque jobs will require candidates with MBAs. Whether you enroll in an online MBA degree program or a traditional campus-based one, a business operations job may be waiting for you in Albuquerque.
