Recent investments in Albuquerque's technology industries are why Forbes magazine recently ranked Albuquerque number one on its list of Best Places for Business and Careers.
With business costs 25% lower than the national average and a low cost of living, Albuquerque is topping many lists. Kiplinger's magazine placed it at number three on its list of the "50 Smart Places to Live." All of this and more is why Albuquerque has become a very attractive location for businesses.
High Tech in Albuquerque
Recently a large number of energy and technology start-ups have sprouted in the Albuquerque sun. Intel currently employs more than 5,000 workers at a nearby chip plant, and Advent Solar, a producer of solar energy products, will move into the area later this year. As Eclipse Aviation gears up to produce more than 2,400 ultralight jets in Albuquerque, the company plans to open up thousands of jobs.
