Louisville, KY
Louisville is the biggest city of the state of Kentucky in terms of its size, population--and claims to fame. A look at some of its history shows that the people of Louisville have always reached for the best.
It was here that the public first saw an electric light when Thomas Edison introduced his incandescent light bulb to crowds at the Southern Exposition in 1883. Louisville is also the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln. Anyone with an interest in that great man's life will find a number of fascinating sites and monuments dedicated to him in the area.
However, agriculture is the real heritage of the state of Kentucky. The living history farms tucked away in mountain hollows, where costumed staff plows with mules, are truly captivating.
While Louisville recognizes its history, it is also thoroughly modern in its outlook and amenities--a combination that makes living and studying here a rich and rewarding experience. |
