The third largest city in the United States, Chicago is exciting, diverse and full of cultural and business opportunities. If you are interested in studying for a baking and pastry qualification you are sure to find a school here that offers a program to suit you.
Situated on the shores of Lake Michigan in Illinois, Chicago is a city of skyscrapers well known for its history of business and Blues music. The deep-dish pizza was invented here but today Chicago boasts restaurants offering everything from international ethnic dining to traditional family fare. This program is offered by more than one school and varies slightly depending on the school you choose. A typical course would involve lots of practical work, learning about ingredients, basic mixing methods, and the production of cakes, pies, cookies, etc.
- Associate of Applied Sciences Degree
This two-year program is available in Baking and Pastry Arts, in Culinary Arts (with a baking and pastry specialization) or in Patisserie and Baking, depending on which school you choose.
