Addison, IL, may sit in the shadow of Chicago, but this suburban city has worked hard to forge its own identity. Founded by English and German settlers in the 1830s, this former farming community has been transformed into a cultural and business center. Chicago is just miles away, but Addison has created its own niche with an extensive public park system, community concerts and festivals, and strong promotion of the arts.
Addison also prides itself on its proximity to excellent schools. A local technology center provides good preparation for entry-level positions in a number of industries, including engineering technology and electronics. Students wishing to take distance learning courses from a business school or to earn a bachelor's degree in electronics need to look no farther than Addison's technology-based universities, which offer an extensive array of on-campus and online courses.
Addison's Technology Boom Spurs Business Growth
Large and small companies continue to set up shop in this business-friendly community, which has several established business parks and offers incentives for new businesses to locate here. Addison is an excellent place to attend business school or electrical engineering school, as local businesses offer many opportunities for internships and entry-level jobs upon graduation.
Getting a bachelor's degree in electronics, business, or engineering technology will make you a more competitive job candidate in Addison. The many technology, business, and electrical engineering schools in the area turn out lots of qualified candidates, and competition can be stiff for local jobs. Living and going to school in Addison will help you get to know the community and its businesses, increasing your chances of landing a good job at one of Addison's many thriving companies.
