Honolulu's reputation as a Pacific paradise could be reason enough to make this city a top choice for pursuing career education. However, few people realize that Honolulu is also dedicated to economic development. This growing city boasts one of the most diverse and well-educated populations in the United States.

Pursuing a BS in Business/Management in Honolulu offers more than just surfing and suntanning between classes. The city's top-notch colleges attract serious students hungry for career development. Honolulu's business parks and its promotion of technology make it an excellent place to begin a business career.

Because of Honolulu's proximity to Asia, the city offers good opportunities for studying international business and working with Asian cultures. The city has four colleges and four community colleges that offer business education leading to a BS in Business/Management. The instructors at Honolulu's business schools come from a wide range of cultures and experiences, so students get a diverse career education in business ideas and practices.

Honolulu Business: Not Just About Tourism

Tourism is by far Honolulu's primary business sector, but this island city also has thriving agri-business, space technology, biotechnology, and call center industries. About 895,600 people, or 72% of the state's population, live in Honolulu, making it Hawaii's business center. The city offers plenty of job opportunities for graduates with a BS in Business/Management.

Another way to enjoy the island life while finishing a BS in Business/Management is by enrolling in an online or distance learning program. Time zone differences may mean participating in scheduled online discussions at odd hours. However, the flexibility of distance learning will allow you to gain valuable experience working in Honolulu while finishing your career education.
