Atlanta offers great weather, as well as a long and storied history. Located in the Southeast corner of the United States it has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons; it's summers and winters are relatively short while spring is long and gentle, and autumn is crisp and bright.
Atlanta was the scene of a number of important battles in the American Civil War and is home to a museum that is dedicated to recording this episode in its history. Other museums include the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site, the Fernbank Science Center, the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library, and World of Coca-Cola.
Atlanta also offers Centennial Olympic Park, built for the 1996 Olympics, and Stone Mountain, the world's largest piece of exposed granite, which is used for summer laser shows. Nearby is Zoo Atlanta, which has a wide variety of animals, including a rare panda exhibit.
