There are many reasons why you might want to move to a city like Atlanta, Georgia. Delicious cuisine, sporting events, southern hospitality, vibrant nightlife, and terrific weather are just a few of the reasons why this metropolis is a favored destination for tourists, students, and professionals alike. Atlanta's business schools and potential employment opportunities make it a top-notch place to study accounting.

Why Attend Business School in Atlanta?

After New York and Houston, Atlanta has the highest number of Fortune 500 headquarters (roughly 14), making it a fertile environment for anyone enrolled in business school. This is especially true for students who want to complete a BS in accounting. With greater government oversight, more regulations, and widespread fear of future Enrons, big companies must invest more resources into making sure that there finances are in order.

And of course, government agencies (both federal and local) are investing more resources as well, to make sure that these companies stay in line. With a BS in accounting, you should have little difficulty finding job opportunities after graduation.

Corporate Clients and More in Atlanta

With roughly half a million residents in the city proper and nearly 5 million residents in the greater metro area, there are countless clients available to anyone with an accounting degree from an accredited business school. Taxes, retirement savings, investing, home ownership, and college tuition are just a few of the basic needs you might come across once you begin taking on clients.

However, you should know that Atlanta is a relatively career-oriented city, and you'll face some pretty stiff competition. The best way to distinguish yourself is by having the right education. A BS in accounting will help open many doors, whether you decide to pursue individual clients, corporate accounts, or government positions in and around Atlanta, Georgia.
